A Chinese Restaurant akin to a 5* Hotel !

Chinese restaurants in Ireland often leave a lot to be desired. Not so the Ambassador. I had one of the best meals I've ever had here. The decor is dark and romantic so perfect for a date night. The service is akin to something you'd find in a 5* hotel. We a selection of dishes including the surprising hot&sour soup, the succulent aromatic duck and mains ranging from beef to chicken to king prawns, not one of which I could fault. The dishes are not cheap but in my opinion it's worth every penny. Opt for a set menu option to keep the cost down somewhat.

The food is fantastic and the service pleasant, helpful and obliging. We keep going back here because this restaurant has that special something that sets it apart. Its got heart.You feel welcome from the moment you sit down. Try the aromatic duck.

Been away for too long!

We live in Cork, but it has been ages since we have been to the Ambassador Restaurant. What a treat, as good as I remembered it. A lot of corporates dining as it was a mid week night. I even spotted some Chinese people dining who were on a business trip to Cork, so that was a good sign to start with!!
My husband and I shared the house speciality, the aromatic duck for starters, portions were very generous, so we opted for light main courses of Chicken and Fish and shared a fried rice. Everything from start to finish was great. Service was second to none, with our water and wine being topped up on regular intervals, we really feel like we were being spoilt!
We opted for a wine which was on special promotion for just €18 and was recommended by William who was looking after us.
Not overpriced by any means, but for anyone looking for value options they had early bird specials, if you get there before 7pm!!
A lovely treat and we will definitely be back.
